Tracking Mail Until It Is Out for Delivery
There are times when it is important to know the location of Letters or Flats in the mailstream. If that is essential for your Presort mail – all the time or just occasionally – Access Mail can assist. We currently imprint a Planet Code on each piece of your mail, which is then recorded by the USPS Confirm System as it is processed through all postal equipment. You are able to monitor your mail’s progress. This tracking may include actual images of the pieces after they are barcoded for sorting.
Access Mail requires a nominal fee for this service, but it provides mailers the means to know when their mail is out for delivery to the recipient, if that is critical information.
The Intelligent Mail® Barcode that will be required on each mail piece with discount postage beginning May 2009 can be enabled for tracking. There will be a fee charged by the USPS for this reporting.
