Barcode Clear Zone Required for Presort Mail
Presorted or machineable mail (able to be read and processed by USPS machines) requires specific zones be reserved for specific functions. Since Access Mail utilizes the same industry-specific equipment to barcode and sort mail, our clients must prepare letters to qualify for discounted postal rates by adhering to these guidelines. Logos, slogans or advertising messages in any of the white spaces (except as part of the return address) may cause the mail to be “non-automated” and can be delayed since it has to be sorted differently.
